With a strong bi-partisan vote of 147-39, House Bill 250 cleared its first hurdle: passage in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The measure proposes to increase Educational Improvement Tax Credits (EITC) by $50 million (raising it to $175 million) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credits (OSTC) by $25 million (raising it to $75 million).
We encourage you to connect with your legislators and let them know how you feel about the current issues. Let them know how important those issues are to you by trying to set up a face to face meeting or a phone meeting with them or one of their staff members. Speaker Turzai, Fellow Bipartisan Legislators Introduce Expanded Tax Credit Scholarships for Students
HARRISBURG – Looking to expand school opportunities for students, legislation was introduced today by Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) to expand the state’s very successful public-private partnership education tax credit program.
PA CAPE recognizes the value of effective teaching and leadership that promote proficiency in student learning and influences the school with a positive culture. Excellence in both teaching and leadership is worthy of honor, so we have established a program of recognition in the following categories:
- Early Educators (3 years – K)
- Primary (Grades 1 – 8)
- Secondary (Grades 9 – 12)
- Early Education (3 years - K)
- Primary Level (Grades 1 – 8)
- Secondary Level (Grades 9 – 12)
Story Awards: This award recognizes outstanding efforts by individuals of a school community in achieving meritorious results, while overcoming obstacles along the way.
